The Heel Raiser combats excess pressure by evenly distributing the weight back along the leg and calf, rather than forcing the strain through a single point of contact.
 
The boot is fitted around the ankle and the foot, leaving the heel exposed to the air. The folding down flap around the toes can also help to increase air flow if this is needed. The pressure is distributed along the calf, removing concerns over a single pressure point.
